About
DIY home improvement projects have had a big place in the life of our family, dating back to the very beginning of our marriage a quarter century ago when DIY Guy surprised me with built-in bookshelves and desk. Our projects these days involve the restoration of a late 1940’s home. We don’t have a tool shed full of high-end equipment like Norm Abrams and Bob Villa, so I wouldn’t say that we are advanced level DIY’ers, but we certainly aren’t novices anymore.
I (Garden Girl) grew up on a farm in the deep south, and while I didn’t really hate farming, I didn’t love it either. It’s hard, HOT work here in our humid climate. But gardening for pleasure is different from large scale farming, and it’s something I’ve enjoyed dabbling with off and over the years. There’s just something about the plants, the dirt, and the harvest at the end of all that hard work that really appeals to me.
On this web site I plan to share our DIY projects and gardening experiences along with step-by-step instructions and photos of our projects. And I’ll also be sharing some of our family’s fun outdoor adventures, like camping and sports.
We welcome you as our guests, and we invite you to make this web site even more helpful by participating in the conversations at the end of each post.
If you enjoy what you read here, send us and email and let us know. We love good company and good conversation!
